EERA Day in France is co-organised by three French organisations:

By raising awareness of France’s major strategies and themes in energy R&I, this event aims to bring together the French low-carbon energy research community and align EERA’s efforts with national priorities in order to explore synergies and identify future opportunities for collaboration.

The EERA Day in France will not only provide an ideal platform for discussing the promotion of harmonisation between national and European agendas in this field, but also a unique networking opportunity for French R&I stakeholders.

10:30 a.m. – Opening remarks
Welcome speeches to set the stage for collaboration between European and French energy research communities.

10:45 a.m. – European research and innovation policy for energy transition
Presentation of the European Commission’s research and innovation strategy for energy transition, with a focus on current policy directions and funding priorities.

11:00 a.m. – Energy and ecological transition in France: what are the challenges?
Presentation of France’s national energy policy, its transition objectives, and its alignment with European frameworks such as the Green Deal and the Clean Industrial Deal.

11:30 a.m. – A national energy research ecosystem facing the challenge of ecological transition
Presentation of the energy research landscape in France, the main players, and the financing tools (France 2030, PEPR, ANR, ADEME) supporting innovation and decarbonisation.

The European Energy Research Alliance (EERA) will present its mission, advocacy role and collaborative research activities, with joint programme coordinators sharing best practices.

2:45 p.m. – Round table: Positioning major national energy research priorities on the European agenda
Discussion on aligning French and European strategies, improving coordination between funding mechanisms, and strengthening cross-border cooperation for the energy transition.
