When research meets industry

On Thursday 12 June, the PEPR SPLEEN programme organised a first-of-its-kind meeting between some fifteen doctoral students from the programme and industrialists, with a clear objective: to bring together the academic and business worlds to build solutions for decarbonising industry.

There were four key moments in the discussions:

đŸ”č A presentation of post-PEPR training and career prospects, highlighting the bridges between research and industry.

đŸ”č An overview of the industrialists present, focusing on their personal backgrounds, their companies’ commitments to decarbonisation, and their expectations of research.

đŸ”č The much-awaited ‘My thesis in 180 seconds’ sequence, during which fifteen doctoral students brilliantly introduced their research work in a concise and demanding format.

đŸ”č A convivial lunch where the doctoral students were able to detail their research in front of the posters and talk directly to the industrialists.

Many thanks to all those who helped to make this day a pleasant moment of sharing and discovery.
