Research & Innovation at the heart of decarbonisation: a look back at NaTran R&I for Tomorrow 2025

Research & Innovation: a central role in combining industry and the environment?
It was around this question that the 2025 edition of the NaTran R&I for Tomorrow event was held yesterday, Tuesday 1 July, at the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle in Paris, bringing together partners, researchers and industry to discuss the energy transition.
On this occasion, Pierre Zoschke, PEPR SPLEEN programme leader, had the pleasure of taking part in a fascinating round-table discussion on the levers for decarbonising industry, moderated by Alice Vatin from NaTran R&I, alongside :
- Christophe Debard – ALLICE (Alliance Industrielle pour la Compétitivité et l’Efficacité Énergétique)
- Anna Pubill-Mlsio et David Honoré – IFRF (The International Flame Research Foundation)
- Sylvie Jadoul – NaTran
Pierre highlighted the challenges of research to improve carbon capture processes, focusing his speech on axis 3 ‘Decarbonisation and intensification of processes’ of the PEPR SPLEEN, through the presentation of three projects:
- IMOSYCCA : modular CO₂ capture systems
- CATALPA : low-temperature and electrified collection
- OXY3C : oxycombustion at the service of capture
These projects illustrate the capacity of research to provide concrete and complementary solutions to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon industry.
Many thanks to NaTran R&I for the invitation and for its active involvement in the PEPR SPLEEN industrial committee.
