Call for applications for a case study in the SHIP4D project
SHIP4D project: Solar heat for decarbonisation

The SHIP4D project of the PEPR SPLEEN (Solar Heat for Decarbonisation) is looking for a willing industrial partner to carry out a techno-economic and environmental case study.
The aim of this case study is to propose the design of a hybrid energy system to cover the heat and electricity demand of an industrial site, giving priority to medium-temperature industrial processes (100-400°C).
The following input data is required for the case study:
Geographical location (solar resource), preferably in France
- Brief description of the industrial processes carried out on site
Availability of land near the industrial site (roof or ground)
- Surface area (m2), orientation, inclination, diagrams
Energy consumption profile for heat and electricity
- Hourly resolution, data for one calendar year
- For heat: heat transfer fluid, flow rate (kg/s) and temperature levels (°C)
- For electricity: voltage level, consumption in MWh
Detailed description of the existing energy infrastructure on site
- Access to the electricity and natural gas grids
- Existing production facilities, e.g. gas boilers
Provision of energy bills (electricity, natural gas)
- Electricity purchase and resale tariffs (€/MWh)
- Natural gas feed-in tariff (€/MWh)
- Fixed costs linked to site capacity
This input data will be used to carry out a preliminary sizing of a hybrid energy infrastructure, optimised for its Net Present Value (NPV), taking into account the specific constraints of the industrial site.
Subject to the signing of a confidentiality agreement between the parties, the data shared as part of this case study and the results obtained may be published in a scientific journal.
